This year I am taking each of my people on a solo trip! I’m so excited about the one on one time and doing something special that lights them up individually. Will and I went for a quick trip to San Diego and it was perfect.
Here’s the thing. There are so many neighborhoods and spots to explore – I could never capture them all! So here’s what we did on QUICK trip:
GET MOVING:
La Jolla Cove – there’s no better spot to explore the tide pools and see the seals. Just park along Coast Blvd and follow the crowds – haha! Especially to the Children’s Pool.
Here’s a link to the tide charts so you can see the best time to go:

GET COFFEE:
GET SHOPPING:
Didn’t get any shopping in this trip! 😉
GET FOOD:
Harumama Noodles + Buns in Little Italy was such a fun spot to go to after to zoo – they have animal steamed buns that are too cute (and delicious!) for words!
Salt and Straw for ice cream!
We really wanted The Taco Stand but the line was so long we opted for El Pescador Fish Market across the street, which was awesome. But if you need tacos, The Taco Stand is a great spot. Also try, Mike’s Taco Club.
GET INSPIRED:
San Diego Zoo – it’s the number one thing to do for a reason. It’s just such a great zoo.
GET TOURISTY:
Balboa Park – so many fun museums to explore – we did the Model Railroad Museum and really enjoyed it. They have a scavenger hunt thats really fun for kids!
